PROFILE
Bio-Images is the Natural History image resource established by wildlife photographer Jason Edwards.
Bio-Images specialises in wildlife, remote landscape, and indigenous people
photography. Over
the
years, Jason has built a library of more than one hundred
thousand images from dozens of
countries, featuring mammals, birds, reptiles,
amphibians and aquatic organisms, as well
as
the landscapes
they inhabit,
and the people who share their ecosystems.
At Bio-Images our images convey a particular quality or emotion that sets
them
apart
from other photo libraries offering similar subject matter. The
reason?
We approach wildlife photography from a basis of understanding
animal
behaviour. Jason is one of a select core of photographers
represented by
the National Geographic Society in Washington DC.
Gathering Natural History imagery is by definition an arduous and
often
physically
demanding task. It requires self-reliance,
patience, and a love
of the subject matter.
It is this understanding
of the environment and of
animal behaviour having an idea
of what an animal is about to do,
how
it will move and why,
that enables Jason to
capture his subjects
so instinctively.
Bio-Images photographs appear in many publications
around the world
from
books
to magazines, posters to
the Internet. Our work has also
been featured
in
numerous
advertising campaigns, where images
with strong metaphorical
themes are often
required.
With an international client base, publishers
and
advertisers
appreciate
our unique approach to their
queries and
requirements.
We supply both film and digital image formats. Our website features a selection
of images.
